Hi! I'm Emerson. I'm a Software Engineer Manager & Tech Lead at Capital One. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2017 where I studied Mechanical Engineering and competed on the Men's Varsity Tennis team. I love to build web applications.

As a Software Engineering Manager at Capital One, I am the Tech Lead for their custom interview platform. Built using AWS, React, Tailwinds, Node, and GraphQL, our application schedules interviews, and provides interviewers with consistent guides and the ability to submit candidate feedback and ratings in a standardized fashion, as well as submit decisions to offer.

As a R&D Scientist at Genscape, I designed and implemented an automated program written in Python that uniquely identifies and counts vehicle traffic at biofuel pump stations throughout the U.S. and outputs valuable data that commodity traders can use to measure nation-wide biofuel production status. This project drastically reduced the number of man-hours required to monitor biofuel production.
